A Medical Approach to Weight Loss
Weight management is not simply about willpower. Body weight can be influenced by genetics, appetite regulation, metabolism, sleep, medications, chronic disease, nutrition, physical activity, hormones, and many other factors.
At Primary Care Center, our approach is medical, individualized, and focused on helping patients improve both weight and metabolic health.
A Program Built Around You
Your treatment begins with a medical evaluation and review of your health history, medications, weight-related conditions, goals, and previous attempts at weight loss.
- Medical and metabolic evaluation
- Nutrition and lifestyle guidance
- Weight and progress monitoring
- Prescription weight-management medication when clinically appropriate
- Once-weekly injectable treatment when appropriate
- Regular physician follow-up
- Long-term weight-maintenance planning
Prescription Weight-Loss Therapy
For eligible patients, prescription injectable medication may be incorporated into the treatment plan. These medications can be highly effective for appropriate patients, but they are not right for everyone. Treatment decisions are made after medical evaluation and consideration of benefits, risks, medical history, and individual goals.
Convenient Treatment Options
Depending on the prescribed treatment and clinical circumstances, patients may receive treatment in the office or may be eligible for an appropriately supervised home-treatment option after instruction.
